Opportunities for Juniors

We offer opportunities for older juniors to get involved with EBA and develop skills that will benefit you throughout your life.

There’s the option to gain training and experience as a badminton coach but there’s a lot more to EBA event management, publicity and marketing. We want you to feel they are valued and can have a real effect at EBA.

Helping other players learn is great way to develop confidence and leadership skills. Players can gain qualifications and shadow our coaches.

What’s required?

  • Helping at one or more sessions per week
  • Attending coaching workshops

Most people will need to work with social media at some point during their career. We offer players the chance to get involved with our social media team to see the wider picture and how it can be used positively.

Why?

  • Learn about content creation
  • How to use different platforms for different audiences
  • Develop professional communication skills
  • Understand online consent and safety
  • Learn the consequences of social media, eg body image, online bullying

What’s required?

  • Approximately 30 minutes per week
  • Zoom meeting every week to review

Our competitions team helps to organise and arrange tournaments for juniors. Players will help guide EBA’s competition schedule and help organise and run events.

At events, players will help set up, assist younger players with scoring and use TournamentSoftware to input results.

Why?

  • Learn how to plan, organise and manage events
  • Work as part of a team on the day to help it go smoothly
  • How to market and promote events

What’s required?

  • Occasional meetings via Zoom
  • Helping at an event for 2-3 hours every 1-2 months
