As a parent or guardian, you are vital to creating the positive environment that young players need to thrive at EBA. This Code of Conduct outlines what we expect from you at sessions and has been designed with best practice in mind to ensure the welfare of members.
As a parent/guardian, I will:
Focus on my child’s enjoyment of badminton, rather than winning or losing
Always be a positive role model for my child.
As much as possible, make sure my child is fully prepared to take part in a session, and arrive and leave promptly.
Remember that children participate in badminton for their own enjoyment, rather than yours
Provide only positive feedback after both training and matches
Encourage players to participate within the rules and regulations of the sport
Always leave the coach to communicate with individuals in a training situation
Treat everyone equally, regardless of age, ability, gender, race, religion, ethnic origin, social status or sexual orientation
Be aware that my own reactions and behaviour impact my child, as well as other parents, guardians and children
Speak to the lead coach after a session if you have any concerns about your child’s development and involvement
As a parent/guardian, I will not:
Enter the field of play during a coaching session
Ridicule or criticise my child, for any reason
Use inappropriate language or behaviour
Allow any form of discrimination to go unchallenged or unreported
Force my child to participate in badminton
By adhering to this Code of Conduct, you’ll ensure the welfare, safety and wellbeing of your children and others around them.
If any parent/guardian behaves in a way which contradicts any of the points set out above, we will address the problem straight away with the parent/guardian and aim to resolve the issue.
