Edinburgh Badminton Academy is committed to safeguarding any child or young person from harm. We want to create a positive sporting environment where young people have the right to be safe, secure, and free from threat.

To achieve this, we recognise the following points:

  • The safety and welfare of children is our main priority
  • All children, regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation have an equal right to protection from all types of harm and abuse

For this reason, we have the following procedures in place:

  • We will ensure that all coaches, volunteers, and team captains are members of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme and have signed our code of conduct
  • Coaches carefully considered and assessed before taking part in work with young people
  • All coaches and volunteers will regularly receive training, supervision, and support regarding the safeguarding of young people
  • We have appointed a Wellbeing & Protection officer to assist with the safeguarding and protection of young people within EBA

If you have any concerns about the welfare of a child or young person, contact the Wellbeing & Protection officer here (TBC).
